James C. Foster Chief Executive Officer James C. Foster is the Chief Executive Officer of Ciphent. Mr. Foster is a well known entrepreneur and has had the honor of holding executive management roles with several successful start-up companies to include Foundstone (acquired by McAfee), Guardent (acquired by Verisign), and Information Security Magazine (acquired by Tech Target Media.) Prior to his tenure with Ciphent, Mr. Foster was responsible for the business development channel program, vendor management, and global service operations for CSC's Managed Information Security Services and Solutions. As Deputy Director of Global Security Solutions, James played a pivotal role in the instantiation of a business development sales channel program. James has 14 years of software development and security experience to include working as the Director of Research and Development for Foundstone, Chief Scientist and Advisor for Guardent, Deputy Director of Global Security Solution Development for Computer Sciences Corporation, and a Security Research Specialist for the US Navy. Mr. Foster has gained global recognition for his accomplishments in the IT Security and Software Development arenas, as evidenced by his residence on the Mitre OVAL Board of Directors. Mr. Foster serves as a Contributing Editor at both Information Security Magazine (acquired by TechTarget) and SearchSecurity.com and is a well published author with over fifteen published books, multiple reaching best seller status - to include, without limitation: Snort 2.0, Snort 2.1, Buffer Overflow Attacks, Sockets, Shellcode, Porting, and Coding, Ultimate Programming Security Desk Reference, and Writing Security Tools and Exploits. His numerous contributions to print media, coupled with his speaking appearances at Microsoft, the National Press Club, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology won him accolades as one of the world's foremost IT Security and Technology experts. Mr. Foster graduated from Capitol College with a Bachelors of Science in Software Engineering. He holds an MBA, PP in Globalization from Northeastern University and is a Post-Graduate Fellow in International Business and Global Operations from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Foster has also attended Harvard, Yale, and resided in the Wireless Security Research Forum at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Andrew Eye Chief Operating Officer Andrew Eye is the Chief Operating Officer of Ciphent and is directly responsible for the company's overall P&L. Prior to joining Ciphent, Mr. Eye was the CEO of Bodkin Consulting Group, a high-end software development firm that specialized in complex web-based application development. Ciphent acquired Bodkin Consulting Group in March 2007. His vision and proven ability to execute has made him a welcomed addition to the Ciphent executive team. Mr. Eye has had an illustrious and successful software development and technology consulting career. He has had the privilege of working with large firms to include Ernst & Young, NASA, i2 Technologies and Corning. Mr. Eye is also a well respected local entrepreneur and resides as the President of the Anne Arundel County Small Business Committee. Using his experience as a software developer and effective team lead, Mr. Eye has helped numerous companies increase their Internet-presence and overall brand value. Leveraging his technical vision clients have reduced operational costs through software-based efficiencies and process automation engines. Mr. Eye graduated Summa Cum Laude from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Business Information Technology. He resides in Bowie Maryland with his beloved wife Sara and daughter Sydney.
Hillary Herlehy Chief Human Capital Officer Hillary Herlehy is the Chief Human Capital Officer at Ciphent and is responsible for aligning Ciphent's workforce plan with its mission, goals and performance objectives by translating human capital into quantifiable financial and business metrics. As Chief Human Capital Officer, Hillary will be responsible for talent acquisition, retention, human resources, and the corresponding processes thereof. The CHCO will ultimately attract new employees, cultivate a meaningful corporate culture, enhance corporate benefits, ensure stable performance standard levels, and maintain high satisfaction levels among the Ciphent Team and its customers. To keep employees satisfied, challenged, and motivated, Ms. Herlehy works alongside the Executive Team to identify skills gaps and promote performance and accountability to compete for and retain a workforce that is talented, satisfied, developed and effectively deployed. Ms. Herlehy formulates, develops and administers an overall human resource program designed to meet the specialized needs of the organization. Through planning, ongoing quality assurance, and forecasting, Hillary specializes in leveraging people and their ideas effectively to achieve bottom-line business goals such as growing the business, increasing market share, margins, share price, and decreasing costs. As an umbrella housing traditional HR functions, Hillary works to ensure a happy workplace by utilizing personnel management, labor-management relations, compliance with laws, benefits; personnel programs and tools. Hillary received Bachelors of Arts in Spanish Business and Philosophy from Sweet Briar College, where courses of study included Marketing, Management, International Management, Accounting, Economics, Advanced Analysis, and Spanish for Business. Kevin Harriford Principal, Chief Architect Kevin Harriford is the Chief Architect of Ciphent. Mr. Harriford consistently leverages his diverse experience in software development and information security. He is responsible for the corporate managed security infrastructure as well as assisting customers' complex information technology needs. Specializing in custom integration and design solutions for client and internal applications, Kevin has assisted numerous government, health, and private organizations in creating custom integrated solutions for complex network installations. In addition, Kevin is a key member of the research and development group where he heads up designing, developing, and implementing new product service offerings using third party and proprietary technologies. Prior to joining Ciphent, Mr. Harriford has enjoyed enormous successes as a senior security consultant, managed services engineer and application developer, where he gained proficiency in assisting clients with architecture and design, product evaluation and testing, development of specialized data processing algorithms, application security and coding best practices. Using his experience as a programmer and product specialist, Mr. Harriford has been able to provide extended capabilities to meet client application needs in areas such as reporting, form processing, asset management, data mining, log management, and trend analysis. Mr. Harriford graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, where his concentrations included security application development, database design, operating systems and computer arhitecture. Kevin is a well published author and has contributed to the "Ultimate Programmer's Security Deskref" & "Metasploit."
Lee P. Dudley, Jr. Executive Vice President of Sales Lee P. Dudley, Jr. is a Principal and the Executive Vice President of Sales at Ciphent. In addition to maintaining overall responsibility for the global sales team, Mr. Dudley is responsible for driving and fostering all manufacturer, vendor and partner relationships for the company. He has been involved with high technology solutions and managed services for more than 20 years. Mr. Dudley brings to Ciphent extensive sales and sales management experience within the technology industry and has held senior sales management positions at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) as the Director of Business Development of Managed Services and Web Hosting for North America, Nortel Networks as the Director of Sales, Eastern Region for Emerging Carriers. At Nortel, his sales team revenues grew to 63 million which exceed all sales targets while meeting and exceeding customer satisfaction targets. Mr. Dudley was a leading sales person at Nortel Networks, Bay Networks and SynOptics Communications. While at Nortel, Mr. Dudley was awarded the Nortel's highest award the MASTERS award which is awarded for achieved sales results and personal character. Mr. Dudley attributed the award to great team work with his colleagues and clients. Mr. Dudley lead the implementation of Corporate backbone networks ranging from ATM ,Layer 3 and Optical Metropolitan Networks (MANS) to many Fortune 500 companies, State and Local Government and University's. Mr. Dudley met and exceeded his sales targets every year while at Bay Networks and SynOptics Communications. Mr. Dudley's expertise in delivering value added solutions will help Ciphent continue to deliver the best solutions, services, support and education to our existing and new customers. Lee resides in Virginia with his family.
John T. Brennan Corporate Council John "Terry" Brennan is Ciphent Corporate Council and brings over twenty years experience in intellectual property and business litigation to the team. Terry is a member of the Virginia State Bar, District of Columbia Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Association, and State Bar of Texas. Terry received his Bachelors of Arts degrees in Economics and French from Rice University and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas.
