Civic Council is a nonprofit, bipartisan organization seeking to raise public awareness of social, economic, and senior healthcare and security issues. When they asked Ciphent to take an existing Photoshop-based design provided by a third party and then implement that design into their website using cascading style sheets (CSS), we were happy to bring our expertise to bear in updating the look of their website.

When the Internet was in its infancy, the content of a web page was the most important part of the site design, with the appearance taking a backseat. But with today’s bustling online environment, the presentation of content has become vital to a site’s success, and Ciphent’s experts know all too well how critical it is for a website to stay at the cutting edge of technology.

Using the elegance of presentation afforded by CSS, we were able to take the existing Photoshop design and generate standards-compliant HTML and CSS to create a site that is not only content rich, but also aesthetically pleasing. The Civic Council’s online presence needed to convey the passion this grassroots group has for educating people and encouraging them to communicate with policymakers about important issues, and their newly designed site does that effortlessly.
