Runfast, a high-profile provider of technology-based solutions for safety training and inspection management, had a terrific idea for a product to support their safety inspection and training software. One of their stated goals for developing safety-focused technology solutions was to save their customers money by helping them to avoid accidents. Why not also help customers save money by making field inspections faster and more efficient?
Runfast had a proof-of-concept application in PERL already available, so they asked Ciphent to take that idea and run with it. We ported the PERL application to a .NET application and redeveloped it to create the functionality Runfast required. The resulting application allows technicians and safety inspectors in the field to replace their paper-based checklists with a software program integrated with a back-end database where they can store and query data, making inspection reviews more efficient and accurate.
Best of all, the application is Web-based, so it can be accessed via a mobile phone or a PDA. Our highly efficient paper-saving application means that field inspection note-taking operations will not only run smoother, they will run faster.
