Due to rapid growth, Ciphent, Inc. has an immediate opening for a “Web 2.0 Developer” in our Baltimore and Austin offices. This position bridges the creative and technical aspects of development. The developer implements designs technically according to creative and art direction already established. As such, the qualified candidate must be able to work in and bridge the creative with the technical across a variety of platforms and frameworks. Developers work on dynamic front end layouts using a mixture of XHTML, DHTML, CSS (using table-less layouts), JavaScript, DOM, AJAX and other technologies.

Skills Required:
• 3-5+ years of experience with D/XHTML/CSS/Javascript development
• Experience integrating code with server side scripting. (PHP, .NET, Coldfusion, JSP, etc.)
• Strong experience with Adobe Photoshop and ImageReady/Fireworks
• Experience developing, testing, and maintaining code that renders consistently across mainstream browsers
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks and AJAX/effects technology (jQuery, Prototype, Scriptaculous) a plus
• Familiarity with Subversion or other source control system a plus
• Database experience preferred: MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL
• Experience with Content Management Systems (Drupal, Joomla, Teamsite, Alfresco, etc.)
• Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices
Other Requirements:
• Undergraduate 4-year Degree or Equivalent Industry Experience
• Experience with understanding and soliciting requirements through conversations with non-technical customers and employees
• Superior work ethic
• Demonstrated ability to work productively both independently and in a team environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work on a team is absolutely vital
• Willingness to travel
